Q: What’s the point of Vstudent?
A: To provide a one-stop online portal for students to check out what’s happening at their uni, in their town, or in the student world in general. We know that students generally have better things to do than sit in front of a computer all day, so we’re concentrating on grabbing their attention for short spaces of time. To do this we provide:
- Up-to-date, comprehensive entertainment listings searchable by uni – also available via WAP on student’s mobile phones
- Eye-catching, interest-grabbing competitions
- Comprehensive student-orientated news syndicated from uni sources
- Concise articles focusing on student lifestyle and issues
- Profiles on every major uni in the country, giving students the info they care about
- A bold, eye-catching design, that – most importantly – is easy to navigate
… and it’s all put together by a dedicated nationwide team of actual, bona fide students.
Q: Why will Vstudent succeed where others have failed?
A: Firstly and most importantly, Vstudent is not being run as a big business and is not seeking to provide a profit for its owners (like, say, Student123); up the profile of its parent group with the student populace (Virginstudent); or act as a marketing tool for selling things to students (Rokstudent). We’re concentrating on quality and not spending all our cash on expensive offices in Ye Olde London Town (we’re based in the cheap-as-chips south west) or overpaid, under-motivated staff: all our staff are students doing this for experience, fame or the sheer hell of it.
Q: Can I get involved?
A: Of course - we’d love you to! Any budding student journalists who’d like to contribute to the site should email us with a short (no more than one side of A4) example of your work and a few ideas about what part of the site you’d like to be involved with.
If you’ve any other questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us via any of the methods detailed on the left.
