Lorraine, The Feeling
Aura, Taunton – 16 February 2006
It's not often you get to see two hotly tipped, bright young musical things peddling their wares in bumfuckland, Somerset. Rarer still that it'll cost you less than the price of a Big Mac meal. First up come Lorraine, not, alas, the latest in a long line of limp female singer songwriters, but a trio of strapping Norwegians bashing out synth-tastic peans to how great the 80s were, probably, and sounding not unlike you'd imagine the Killers would if the rest of the band didn't reign in Brandon Flowers more extrovert Human Leaguings. Better still, singer Ole Gunnar Gundersen is a Flowers look-a-like pulling off moves last seen by this reviewer when a magician called G.O.B came onstage to Europe's the Final Countdown in award winning US comedy Arrested Development. Which won't mean much to most people, unless you click here.
