I know what your thinking: The Pacifier that's the Disney remake of Kindergarten Cop with Vin Diesel in the Arnie role innit?' But no, no, nooooo say Disney. It's nothing like Kindergarten Cop at all! That film was all about a tough law enforcer who has to go undercover in pre-school to catch a nasty bad guy who soon found out that dealing with children was actually far harder than dealing with criminals. And what's more it turned out that he loved being around kids after all! Now the Pacifier, y'see, is an altogether different kettle of pish. It's all about an undercover agent who has to look after a bunch of kids and soon finds out that dealing with children is far harder than dealing with criminals! Seriously, and guess what it turns out that the hard man is won over by the brats and goes all soft at the end! Ok, so there may be a passing resemblance, but there is one crucial difference between the two films, because as much as I hate to admit it I actually quite enjoyed Arnie's pre-school escapades, in a no-brainer Hollywood schlockfest kinda way, of course. But the Pacifier? Now, the Pacifier is just plain terrible. |
