Perplex City
Mind Candy
Does you mind currently feel as lethargic and bloated as your post-Christmas body? After two weeks of mind-numbing telly and inane conversations with your Gran, now might be a good time to stretch the ol' grey matter. And you could do a lot worse than immerse yourself in Perplex City, an ARG (Alternative Reality Game) from the UK-based Mind Candy. Aimed at puzzle fans and those who find video games lacking in real life thrills (and rewards), Perplex City players must solve puzzle cards for clues and information to help track down the Receda Cube, lost somewhere in the real world, and be in with a chance of claiming a £100,000 cash reward offered by a mysterious character known only as Sente. There are more than 250 cards and the game intertwines different forms of media, from web to SMS and email to live events, and is so complex and demanding that thousands are already given over their lunch breaks and social lives to it. Here at Vstudent.co.uk we sent off one of our best brains in search of the Cube and we haven't seen her since – check out www.perplexcity.com to find out how to join the quest for yourself.
