007 is back, kind of, as Bond returns in a brand new-old game, From Russia with Love! I have to admit that every time a new Bond game is set for release, me and the boys get as excited as 10 year-olds at Christmas. You see, we're all old enough to have wasted most of our youth locked in darkened rooms killing each other in Goldeneye's multiplayer mode on the N64, and we've long waited for a new Bond game with the finesse and playability of that old classic. So for the umpteenth time in 10 years, is this the one? The game follows the 60s film, Bond meets with a KGB officer to retrieve a Russian code machine, but finds himself set up by an old enemy. The game is spent mostly in the third person mode, derived from the previously released Everything or Nothing, with time devoted to some mediocre jet-packing and car-driving inbetween. The bulk of gameplay is fun, but nothing not already seen, and to say that it's is a bit easy is an understatement. It took about five hours to complete in singleplayer and the multiplayer option we were so looking forward to… Well, let's just say the wait goes on. Sean Connery himself recorded voice parts, whilst an orchestra was employed to re-record the movie score and Natasha Beddingfield (yes please) turns up as a Bond girl – which at least means you know where your thirty quid went. Overall it's not a bad game, its just… another Bond game. By James Cocks
